The Peconic Baking Company’s Riverhead shop, located at 303 Osborne Avenue near the train station, has the best sticky buns I’ve ever had. The theme of the baking company is “Fueled by Frosting,” which to me sounds like a good motto to live by. One sticky bun is enough for two people to share. Ask Patrick for extra icing or, if you’re bringing them home, ask him for some icing on the side to add later. A Sunday morning sticky bun can fuel you for several hours.

The Peconic Baking Company has a café at 2755 Peconic Lane in Peconic. Call 591-2930 or 734-7793 to place an order for the best sticky buns you’ll ever find around here.

Last Sunday kicked off the annual Hamptons Restaurant Week and there’s still time to enjoy dinner out at local favorite restaurants for $21.95 per person. Participating restaurants are offering three-course prix fixe dinners for that price until Sunday, April 6. Around here you can go to Paul’s in Speonk, The Olde Speonk Inn, Trumpet’s, Casa Basso, Tierra Mar, Stone Creek Inn, Michael’s At The Boardwalk, Tweed’s, The Patio and Westhampton Steakhouse, just to name a few. For a complete listing, call 727-2870 or visit the website at www.hamptonsrestaurantweek.com. Most restaurants also offer discounted wines with the meals. It’s a great opportunity to go to some places you normally would not consider. Bon appétit!

The annual Spring Rummage Sale at the Westhampton Presbyterian Church will take place on Wednesday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m., and on Thursday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to noon. The church is located on Meeting House Road in Quiogue and everyone is invited to come shop.

The Eastport South Manor Theatre and Music departments will present the musical “South Pacific” at the school tonight, Friday and Saturday. All performances will begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens, and $10 for adults.

Members of the cast and crew, students playing in the orchestra pit and other school staff members have worked so hard getting ready for the show. Come out and support the arts at ESM this weekend. For more information, please call 874-6615. Best of luck to all involved in “South Pacific!”

The Eastport Fire Department’s Benevolent Association will host a steak dinner at the firehouse on Saturday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. Donation is $25 per person. Call 325-0464 or 484-4411 for tickets. Seating is limited.
