In recognition of National Poetry Month, Stony Brook Southampton will host a special memorial poetry reading from the works of the late poet Siv Cedering on Saturday, April 12, at 4 p.m. in Duke Lecture Hall. Ms. Cedering, who chose Sagaponack for her home and inspiration, was also a translator, sculptor, painter, book illustrator and songwriter. She died in November.
Many of Long Island’s poets and writers are set to participate, including Hans Van de Bovenkamp, Zachariah Fox Gamble, Simon Van Booy, Lucas Hunt, Ann Porter, Allen Planz, Claire Nicolas White, Bill Henderson, Connie Fox, Fran Castan, Louis Simpson, Dava Sobel, Martin Tucker, Denise Regan, Michelle Murphy, Harvey Shapiro, Ed Butscher, Diane Giardi, Nondita Mason and event organizer Laureate Daniel Thomas Moran.
