Michael F. Porter, 29, of Flanders was arrested at 8:45 a.m. on April 1 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Village Police say they stopped Mr. Porter for a traffic violation on Hill Street, and a computer check revealed that his license was suspended for failing to pay child support.

Village Police arrested William C. Downey, 74, of Riverhead at 10:10 a.m on April 1 on an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear on charges of theft of services, a misdemeanor.

Luis A. Manzanares, 27, of Huntington Station was arrested by Village ?Police on April 2 around 5:30 p.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, a misdemeanor. Police stopped Mr. Manzanares on County Road 39 for a traffic violation and a check revealed his license was suspended for an alcohol-related incident. He was released on $100 bail.

Village Police arrested Wilfred Bayrami, 49, of Sag Harbor at around 9:40 a.m. on April 3 and charged him with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Mr. Bayrami was stopped on County Road 39 for a traffic violation when police say they smelled marijuana. A subsequent search turned up the marijuana on him and revealed that he had a suspended license.

Karen J. Murphy, 45, of Southampton Village, was arrested by Village Police and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor, on April 3 around 8 p.m. after the Waldbaum’s grocery story reported her as a shoplifter. Police said they found $280 worth of groceries in her truck. She was later release on an appearance ticket.

On Sunday, around 1:50 a.m., Corey J. Staab, 23, of Shirley was arrested by Village Police and charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Officers said they saw Mr. Staab leave 7-Eleven with five bundles of newspapers he had not paid for. Police stopped his vehicle, and placed him under arrest. Mr. Staab posted $100 bail and was released.

Village Police arrested Aaron M. Halsey, 22, of Water Mill at around 7:45 a.m. on April 6 and charged him with petit larceny after officers were called to Waldbaum’s about a shoplifter. Police said Mr. Halsey tried to leave the store with $37 worth of candy. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Village Police arrested Edward Deruyter, 39, of Mastic Beach on Monday around 2 p.m. and charged him with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped Mr. Deruyter for a traffic violation when a check showed his license was suspended. He was released on an appearance ticket.
