Fifty eighth-grade students were inducted recently into the National Junior Honor Society. To be eligible for inclusion in this society, students must exemplify the five characteristics highlighted by the National Junior Honor Society: scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship.
On hand to congratulate the students for this achievement was special guest speaker Board of Education Trustee Reverend Marvin Dozier, Intermediate School Principal Timothy Frazier and advisors Mei-Lynn Guerrero and Kristen Minter. During the ceremony, students spoke about the qualities necessary for induction, lit a candle symbolizing each characteristic, and pledged their commitment to the NJHS.
Students in the sixth- and seventh-grade band provided the entertainment. Congratulations to the newest members of the National Junior Honor Society.
