If you take a drive down West Side Avenue in East Quogue, you will see an ocean of black plastic garbage bags. Then turn the corner and you will come upon another vast number of bags filled with leaves all from one person. There are approximately 150 bags in all (yes, I did count them).
These bags are produced from oil and will remain in our landfill for years to come. When the town vacuums leaves up when left loose and disposes of them, why does this person feel the need to bag them in such an un-Earth-friendly way? Maybe it’s to keep those pesky little leaves in their place. Please!
Happy Earth Day!
