Police: Drug dealer arrested

Southampton Town Police reported on Saturday that they had arrested a drug dealer who was on his way to Stony Brook Southampton.

Jesse S. Bachrach, 21, of Stony Brook was pulled over for a traffic violation on Saturday, December 6, around 2:35 a.m. on Coopers Farm Road in Southampton Village. Town Police said they could smell marijuana in Mr. Bachrach’s car, and a search turned up 48 amphetamine tablets and six capsules of Adderall, a drug used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The drugs were packaged for sale, according to police.

The drugs, which police said Mr. Bachrach intended to deliver to the college campus, were sent to the Suffolk County Crime Lab for analysis.

Police also confiscated $125 in small bills and his 1998 Jeep Cherokee.

Mr. Bachrach was taken to Southampton Town Police headquarters in Hamptons Bays and held for arraignment. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a felony, three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, improper lane change and disobeying a traffic control device, both traffic infractions.
