I have just posted an article about the New York City real estate industry antitrust lawsuit against the Real Estate Board of New York and the larger real estate agencies in New York City. The defendants, who lost the lawsuit, are the same real estate agencies as those dominant in the Hamptons: Corcoran, Prudential Douglas Elliman, Brown Harris Stevens, and Sotheby’s. I believe more lawsuits will follow against them.
My post (www.eastendlistings.com/?p=457) discusses the probable future outcome of antitrust legal actions against real estate agents and agencies in New York City and in the Hamptons.
This is must reading, I believe, for property owners, buyers, sellers, real estate lawyers, and real estate agents.
