East Hampton man, 29, charged with two counts of selling cocaine


Ruven D. Bermejo Valez, 29, of East Hampton, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, cocaine, a felony, and unlawful possession of marjuana, a violation, at his home on King Street, on Wednesday, December 10, at 11:08 p.m. He was also charged with two counts of the criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.

Detective Sergeant Chris Anderson said Mr. Bermejo Valez had sold cocaine to undercover officers on two occasions in June 2008. He said the suspect was being sought in connection with sales of cocaine in the East Hampton area. Police found had him at his home the night of December 10, along with an unknown quantity of packaged cocaine, which he tried to hide from officers, Det. Sgt. Anderson said. He also had a small quantity of marijuana. Bail was set at $20,500.
