Donald J. Drapeau of East Hampton died on January 2 at the Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. He was 92.
Born March 10, 1916, in Gary, Indiana, to Eunice (née Bassford) and Donald J. Drapeau Sr., he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from January 1941 to September 1945. He worked as a machinist for Fairchild Hiller and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Massapequa.
In addition to his wife, LaRue A. (née Pearsall) Drapeau of East Hampton, he is survived by a daughter, Diane Sue Drapeau Tutino of East Hampton; a brother, Charles B. Drapeau of Massapequa; a sister, Patricia Bell of Wisconsin; three grandchildren; and 19 nieces and nephews.
The family received visitors on January 4 at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. Funeral services were held on January 5 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Hampton, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
