The search for a new superintendent for the Springs School District has begun, School Board president Chris Kelley said at a meeting of the School Board at Springs School on Monday night.
The district has hired Ed Swensen, a consultant for special projects for the district and chair of the Springs School committee on special education, to conduct the search. Mr. Swensen will be in charge of advertising for the position and screening candidates, Mr. Kelley said. Mr. Swensen conducted the last search for a superintendent. Up to $5,000 has been budgeted for his services.
Thomas R. Quinn, the current superintendent, has been in his post for five years and announced he was going to retire last fall. He will continue on in his position until June 30.
