Man killed Friday in Noyac crash


A Noyac man was killed Friday when his vehicle crashed into a tree along the north side of Noyac Road, at the intersection with Elm Street, in Noyac.

Southampton Town Police said Evaristo Choy, 21, was traveling west on Noyac Road at around 7 p.m. when his 1998 Saturn four-door sedan struck the tree. Mr. Choy and one of the vehicle’s two passengers, neither of whom was identified by police, were flown by Suffolk County medevac helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital. Mr. Choy died at the hospital as a result of his injuries. His passenger is in stable condition, police said.

A second passenger was transported to Southampton Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released.

Town Police were assisted at the scene by State Police, Sag Harbor Ambulance and the Sag Harbor Fire Department.
