Eastport community notes, September 24

Autumn officially arrived Tuesday and it was preceded last weekend by some beautiful September weather. Could the sky have been any bluer than it was? Could the air have been any better for sleeping than it was? Out came the slippers and bathrobes, the UGGs and the socks. An early Sunday dinner in the dining room of turkey, stuffing, cranberry and gravy kicked off autumn at our house. We had apple cider and apple pie. A fire in the fire pit topped off the evening.

I looked ahead on the calendar to see when daylight-saving time ends and it is on Sunday, November 1—the day after Halloween.

Anyone in the ESM School District with a son or daughter in the music program is welcome to take part. Talk to Ken Vignona or Dan Graf at school for more information. Fliers will be handed out at Open House about the Music Booster. There is an exciting schedule of band and chorus events slated for the year. Congratulations to the members of the ESM varsity football team on their recent win over Miller Place. There must have been some magic in the air that night under the new field lights on the new field. It all came together and worked. The smell of VICTORY is so sweet and the guys have been working so hard. We are proud of our ESM Sharks!
