The East Hampton softball team fell to 6-9 in League VI, 6-10 overall after an 8-2 loss at Mount Sinai on Monday. The loss means that the Lady Bonackers will need to win all three of their final regular season games in order to qualify for the Class A playoffs. East Hampton advanced to the county final in Class A last year.
Ali Harned hit a home run in the loss on Monday, one of seven hits for her team. Casey Waleko took the loss for East Hampton. Mount Sinai’s Cassandra Wilson got the win, striking out 11 East Hampton batters.
The East Hampton girls lacrosse team beat Elwood/John Glenn 19-8 on Monday to keep its playoff hopes alive. The Lady Bonackers improved to 4-8 in Division II, 4-10 overall. Melanie Mackin had six goals and four assists, a career high, to lead East Hampton. Maggie Pizzo and Cassidy Walsh each added four goals.
The Pierson baseball team improved to 17-1 in League IX with a 10-0 shutout of Stony Brook on Monday. Lefty ace Colman Vila struck out 18 batters and allowed just one hit to lead Pierson. He also had two hits, two doubles, and three RBIs on the day.
