Springs School will host this year’s World’s Fair at the school’s gym on Friday evening.
The event, which is in its 13th year, will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It will feature food, dancing and posters from various countries that reflect the school’s diverse community. Countries that will be featured include Albania, Armenia, Australia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Poland, Polynesia, Puerto Rico, Russia, Scotland and Sweden, according to a flyer on the district’s website advertising the event.
Irish stepdance and Mexican dance performances will also take place. Activities will include making your own African masks, Egyptian head bands, Chinese dragons, patriotic jewelry, multicultural ornaments, henna tattoos, origami and cultural costume photos.
“It’s a celebration, really, of all the culture and ancestries that our kids have in the district,” said School Superintendent Dominic Mucci. “It’s a wonderful experience.”
