Bideawee Receives $100,000 Grant To Help With Sandy Damage

The John T. and Jane A. Wiederhold Foundation has awarded animal rescue and welfare organization Bideawee with a grant for $100,000 to help with post-Hurricane Sandy repairs to the Bideawee Campus for Pets and People in Wantagh.

Bideawee, with locations in Manhattan, Wantagh, and Westhampton suffered extensive damage due to Hurricane Sandy at all of its locations. The Wiederhold Foundation grant will enable the organization to purchase a new generator and allow Bideawee to maintain the evacuation center in Wantagh.

“We are eternally grateful to The Wiederhold Foundation for their grant. It will help Bideawee replace the generator and ensure that Bideawee’s Campus for Pets and People in Wantagh can serve as a safe haven for animals in need in the event of a disaster,” stated Bideawee President and Chief Executive Officer Nancy Taylor.
