Sunday and holiday bus service will resume on two major East End bus lines from May 26 (Memorial Day weekend) through October 13 (Columbus Day weekend).
The Sunday Bus program is a product of legislation first introduced by Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman in 2011. Banking on the program’s success in both 2011 and 2012, the program was reissued for the 2013 season. Sunday and holiday service will be extended on the S92 bus line that runs from Orient Point to East Hampton, and on the 10C line that connects East Hampton riders to the S92 route making stops in Montauk, Amagansett and East Hampton.
“Sunday is a busy day for retail and service-oriented businesses. Employees need to get to work, and employers need a workforce they can depend on,” said Mr. Schneiderman.
