Southampton School District Propositions
Voters in the Southampton School District will be asked to vote on five propositions in addition to the proposed budget.
Proposition 2 would keep in place the district’s bus fleet replacement program for another year, not exceeding $350,000, for the purchase of one 48-passenger bus and two 34-passenger vans and two 28-passenger vans. Funds would be used from the bus fleet replacement capital reserve fund. No borrowing or additional tax increase needed.
Proposition 3 would authorize the spending of capital reserve funds, not to exceed $1.5 million, to continue repairs at all three school buildings: masonry repairs, upgrade of electric, and the raising of boiler stacks.
Proposition 4 would authorize the spending of $398,320 for the district’s participation with the Southampton Youth Association for the 2013-14 school year.
Proposition 5 would authorize the spending of $326,509 for the district’s participation with the Parrish Art Museum for the 2013-14 school year.
Proposition 6 would authorize the spending of $98,000 for the district’s participation with the Southampton Historical Society for the 2013-14 school year.
