Jeffrey Havlik of Montauk died on May 17. He was 59.
Born on May 9, 1954, in Mineola, to William and Ruth Havlik, both of whom predeceased him, he was raised in Floral Park. He graduated from Floral Park Memorial High School in 1972 and the following year moved to Montauk, where he worked on a fishing boat before becoming a bay constable. He retired from the Town of East Hampton Marine Patrol, as a senior bay constable, in 2007.
Mr. Havlik was an active member of the Montauk Fire Department for 33 years. Survivors remembered his love for his family and community.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Havlik, who was his high school sweetheart; a daughter, Kimberly Havlik; a brother, Tom Havlik; a nephew, Patrick Havlik; and a niece, Emily Havlik.
