The Southampton Center has partnered with the Hamptons International Film Festival to bring contemporary and classic films to the East End this summer. The inaugural season of “FILM @ Southampton Center” will screen in July and August at the center, located in the former Parrish Art Museum building in Southampton Village.

FILM @ Southampton Center will include classic favorites, and select independent films before they are released in theaters. Screenings will be held outdoors on Friday nights at approximately 8:30 p.m., beginning July 12, and will screen through August 23. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own beach chairs, blankets and refreshments. In the event of rain, film screenings will be moved indoors. Seating will be first come, first served.

Films will also be shown indoors on select Saturdays in July and August. Saturday Inside at Southampton Center Theater will be held at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Seating is limited and will be first come, first served.

All FILM @ Southampton screenings will be shown for free and will be open to all.

The first outdoor film, “Chasing Ice,” a documentary about National Geographic photographer James Balog and his trek across the Arctic as he deploys time-lapse cameras to capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers, will screen on Friday, July 12. “Running Wild,” a documentary about a cowboy who triumphs in his quest to protect and preserve America’s western horses, screens on Friday, July 19.

Family movie “Wreck-It Ralph” screens on July 26. The animated film about a video game stars the voices of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch. That night, at 7 p.m., movie storyteller LuAnn Adams will bring stories to life for the little ones, with visuals, puppets, music and lots of audience participation.

Indoor films in July will include the documentary “Blue Caprice” on Saturday, July 20, and the feature “Prince Avalanche” on Saturday, July 27.

Coming up in August, the films “Safety Last,” “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints” “Jaws,” and “Step Into Liquid” will screen outside on Friday nights.

Inside, in August, the films “Drinking Buddies” and “Short Term 12” will screen on Saturday nights.
