The second time was the charm for the 10th anniversary celebration of East Quogue’s Village Green, as hundreds of community members turned out for a host of family-oriented festivities on Saturday.
After being canceled due to inclement weather in May, a gloomy forecast for this weekend threatened to permanently derail the celebration. But when the event kicked off, only sunshine fell on the lawn of the park.
Children had their faces painted, lined up for balloon animals and played on the park’s main lawn to the tune of classic rock covers performed by The Filthy Crickets. The free event also included a giant inflatable slide and food from local restaurants and vendors.
