The Southampton Youth Bureau is again partnering with Island Harvest to provide free lunches this summer for children and teenagers at the David W. Crohan Community Center, located off Flanders Road in Flanders.
Those 18 and younger qualify for the complimentary meals, which will be offered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., between July 8 and August 28. There will be pizza slices offered one day each week, and an assortment of sandwiches and fruit the other two days, according to organizers.
In addition, those partaking in the lunches are invited to drop in at the Flanders Youth Center, which operates at the facility and offers games, computer access, movies, crafts and other activities.
Participants do not have to provide identification to enjoy the free meals, organizers said.
The free lunches are offered through the state’s Summer Food Service Program, an extension of the free and reduced meal programs offered during the school year. For more information, visit www.southamptontownny.gov/youthbureau or call (631) 702-2425.
