Susan Ann McLane Gioscia of Water Mill died at Southampton Hospital on July 29, after a battle with lung cancer. She was 65.

Born in Southampton to the former Grace Foster and Daniel P. McLane, she was a direct descendant of Christopher Foster, the first family member to arrive on Long Island from England in 1635. Ms. Gioscia attended local schools and had a career in banking, employed over the years at Sag Harbor Savings Bank, Southold Savings Bank, Suffolk County National Bank and most recently at Bridgehampton National Bank.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. H. Thomas Gioscia, and their daughter, Sarah Grace Gioscia. She is also survived by a sister, Linda Euell and husband Thomas Euell, and their daughters, Kelly and Megan Euell, as well as a brother-­in-law and his wife, Dr. Michael and Clorissa Gioscia, and their three daughters, Amanda and Gabrielle Gioscia, and Jacqueline Zirman and husband Jayson Zirman. Ms. Gioscia is also survived by a niece, Kathleen Mara Shanks and husband Christopher Shanks, and their daughters, Kaitlin and Corinne Shanks. She was predeceased by her parents, and also by a son, Daniel P. Kelly and his father George S. Kelly Jr., as well as a sister, Katherine Francis Sacco.

The family received friends at the Brockett Funeral Home on July 31. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Bridgehampton on August 1, and interment followed at Flying Point Cemetery in Water Mill.

This annual award is given to a deserving high school senior who volunteers in the community, and who exhibits leadership qualities.
