The South Fork Community Health Initiative will offer free child seat checks and education on proper installation for parents and caregivers on most Fridays, through September 27, at the East Hampton Healthcare Center on Pantigo Road.
The checks, available by appointment only, will be conducted by bilingual-certified child passenger safety technicians.
The checks aim to provide the community with proper education and information on the right type of seat for your child and vehicle type, as well as the correct way to secure the child in the seat.
Car crashes are the number one killer of children 1 to 12 years old in the United States, according to a release issued by the South Fork Community Health Initiative.
