A 28-year-old Westhampton man was arrested after authorities said he pointed what turned out to be a pellet gun at a housemate during an argument over money on the evening of September 12.
Southampton Town Police said Gabriel Costello was arrested at the Montauk Highway home he shared with the male victim a short time after the incident, which occurred around 6 p.m. last Thursday. Police said he pointed what appeared to be a revolver at his housemate, but responding officers later recovered the weapon and said it was a pellet gun.
Mr. Costello was arrested at his home and charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation, police said. He was transported to police headquarters in Hampton Bays for processing.
