Turtle, Seal Find Their Way Back To The Sea

A cheerful crowd gathered to watch volunteers from the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation release Happy, an endangered Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle, into the Shinnecock Bay on Saturday. Happy was the last turtle of the 2012 cold stun season to be released. He was rescued in December 2012 from Sag Harbor. Volunteers also had a surprise for the onlookers, as they also released Eeyore, a seal who was rescued with an ear infection. CAROL MORAN PHOTOS
