The East Hampton field hockey team knocked off one of the powerhouse teams in Division III on Monday, beating Shoreham/Wading River 3-0 on the road to improve to 2-0. Amanda Calabrese had a goal and an assist, while Kathryn Wood and Grace Amaden also scored. Brooke Rivkind and Francesca Keogh also added assists. Goalie Leonella Acevedo did not need to make any saves to record the shutout.
The Pierson field hockey team (1-1) lost 2-0 at Miller Place on Monday. Miller Place scored a goal in each half, and had a 16-4 advantage over the Lady Whalers in corners. Sam Duchemin made 17 saves in the loss.
The East Hampton girls volleyball team (2-0) swept Mount Sinai 3-0 on Monday with scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-18. Raya O’Neal had 12 kills, five aces, 10 assists and 11 digs, while libero Katie Brierley had 30 digs. Jenna Budd added 22 digs, and Lydia Budd had six kills, 17 assists, and six digs.
The Pierson girls volleyball team (1-1) was swept 3-0 by Shelter Island on Monday, with scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-10. The East Hampton boys volleyball team (1-2) lost 3-0 at home to Center Moriches, with scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-22.
The East Hampton girls soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to 2-1 with a 4-0 loss to Center Moriches on Monday. The Lady Red Devils scored all four goals in the second half. Francesca Schelfhout made 21 saves for East Hampton.
