The third installment of the San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons will mark its return to Hampton Bays early next month.
Sponsored by the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce, the festival will be held on Good Ground Road on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. both days. The event kicks off with a parade celebrating San Gennaro, the Patron Saint of Naples, on Saturday, October 5, at 10:30 a.m.
The street fair will feature more than 100 food and merchandise vendors, live music including “Big Mike” from American Idol, a deejay, a food tent featuring a variety of Italian delicacies and assorted raffles. A children’s carnival will also be held during festival hours on the Hampton Bays Fire Department grounds adjacent to Good Ground Road.
A Fireworks by Grucci display will light up the sky on Saturday evening, beginning at approximately 8:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the fireworks display will be moved to Sunday evening.
There is no charge to enter the fair, though tickets must be purchased to enjoy the carnival rides.
Proceeds raised at the two-day festival will support Maureen’s Haven, the Hampton Bays High School Scholarship Fund and the Coalition for Women’s Cancer at Southampton Hospital. For up-to-date information, visit www.sangennarofeastofthehamptons.com.
