Man Approaches Students Outside Of Sagaponack School; Schools Stress Stranger Safety Talks


In an alert sent to all parents and staff of the East Hampton School District, parents have been advised to talk to their children about stranger safety following reports that several students were approached by an unknown man outside of the Sagaponack school early on Friday.

According to the alert from East Hampton Superintendent of Schools Richard Burns, the man was between 28-35 years old with olive skin and brown eyes. He was driving an olive green Honda Element that reportedly had debris inside of it.

Southampton Town Police did not have any information on the incident on Friday afternoon. East Hampton Village Police have also been notified to be on the lookout, according to the email.
