Southampton High SchoolSenior Lily Wilson has been named September Lions Student of the Month. The Student Council president, Best Buddies vice-president, and co-founder of the Southampton Chapter of Girls Learn International, Lily has been a member of the lacrosse team, Rotary Interact Club, Southampton Town Youth Court, and the math team. When she is not busy with one of those many activities, you can find her volunteering at The Retreat domestic violence shelter. Lily attended the National Young Feminist Conference in March 2013. The daughter of Nancy Silverman and Jake Wilson, her future plans include possibly majoring in women’s studies and political science in college.

Southampton Intermediate SchoolStudents Skyped with teachers John Walsh and Ryan Munkwitz during their trip with the NASA Sofia program in California on Thursday, September 19. Mr. Walsh and Mr. Minkwitz are the only teachers from New York selected to participate in the program and are looking forward to sharing more of their experience with their students upon their return.

Southampton Elementary SchoolRobert Colavito’s class from last year received a signed letter and photograph from President Barack Obama acknowledging and responding to their persuasive writing letters sent last year. The letter was shared during third and fourth grade Morning Meeting on Friday.
