Amagansett’s La Fondita and The Meeting House and Bridgehampton’s Almond and Fresh are participating in Amagansett Food Institute’s Dine Out For AFI.
Dine Out For AFI is a charity event that shows support for farmers and food producers that AFI serves. Each participating restaurant will make a tax-deductible donation of 20 percent of its proceeds from its Thursday, October 10, dinner service.
AFI currently has 20 members. The organization coordinates the sale of surplus locally grown produce to the Long Island Cares food bank and is also in the process of raising money for the development of a commercial kitchen incubator on the South Fork.
