REVCO Donates To Fire DepartmentsIn recognition of National Fire Prevention Week, October 6 to 12, East End lighting and electrical supply company REVCO of Southampton is donating $1 to fire departments in Southampton, East Hampton, Riverhead and Southold for every smoke detector sold during the month of October. In a typical month, the company sells approximately 1,200 smoke detectors.

“REVCO is proud to do its part to support our local fire departments and endorse fire safety in our own communities,” stated REVCO Vice President Michael Velys Sr.

Employees Purchase CompanyNanuet-based Target Research Group Inc., a full-service marketing research company founded in 1986, was recently purchased by the employees of the company, led by Amagansett resident Greg Spagna, the company’s new chief executive officer.

“Our reason for purchasing Target is to have full control over the future development and growth of our company, and to allow the employees the opportunity to share directly in our success,” said Mr. Spagna. “As an employee-owned company, we will be even more dedicated to providing our clients with the quality and service they have come to expect from Target. Common Stock Offering Proposed

Bridge Bancorp Inc., the parent company of Bridgehampton National Bank, has announced its intentions to commence an underwritten public offering of $25 million of its common stock.

The purpose of the offering is in part to provide additional capital to Bridge Bancorp to support its recent acquisition of FNBNY Bancorp Inc. and for general corporate purposes.

Bridge Bancorp intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15 percent of the number of shares sold in the offering. RBC Capital Markets LLC will act as the sole book-running manager for the offering, and Sandler O’Neill + Partners L.P. will serve as co-manager.

The proposed offering will be made solely by means of a prospectus and related preliminary prospectus supplement. Meet The CandidatesThe Southampton Business Alliance will host a Meet The Candidates Breakfast on Tuesday, October 15, at 8:30 a.m. at the Southampton Inn, located on Hill Street in Southampton Village.

At the breakfast meeting, the community will have the chance to hear from and ask questions of the candidates for Southampton Town supervisor and Town Board. Candidates for the Suffolk County Legislature and other positions will be on hand to meet attendees as well.

“Given the importance of this year’s town election, we wanted the public to have an opportunity to meet our town supervisor and council candidates and hear their answers to our questions concerning the local economy,” stated Southampton Business Alliance President Aram Terchunian in a prepared statement. He continued, “Our local businesses face unique challenges ranging from zoning regulations to the high cost of housing for potential local workforce, and we look to our town officials for their guidance and support.”

Contractor Competition HeldRiverhead contractor Justin Winters of A&M Electric won the Southampton leg of the Broan-Nutone Ultra Pro Challenge, held on Tuesday, September 17, at REVCO Lighting and Electrical Supply.

The competition was one of 60 stops along the national ULTRA Pro Challenge tour that gives contractors across the country hands-on experience with ULTRA ventilation fans. Mr. Winters won by installing an ULTRA Ventilation Fan in a time of 5 minutes and 16 seconds and received a $500 Cabela’s gift certificate as a prize.

At the conclusion of the tour, the eight contractors from across the country with the quickest times among the location winners will win a trip for two to the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas in February 2014, where they will compete for the grand prize of a 2014 Ford F150 Pickup Truck. Mr. Winters’ time did not qualify him to move on to a higher round.

New Hires At FirmThe Riverhead accounting firm of Markowitz, Fenelon & Bank LLP, with offices in Riverhead, Southampton, East Hampton, and Sag Harbor, has recently added Jani Rothberg, CPA; Heather L. Scholtz and Danielle M. Anderson to its staff.

Jani Rothberg, of Moriches, will work from the firm’s Sag Harbor office and was previously employed at Ferrera, DeStefano & Caporusso CPAs based in Islandia. Ms. Rothberg holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Dowling College, where she graduated with honors. She brings more than 13 years of public experience in corporate and personal tax and tax planning as well as specialized knowledge of accounting for construction companies to the firm.

Ms. Anderson, of Manorville, will join Ms. Rothberg in the firm’s Sag Harbor office. Ms. Anderson was previously employed at Lawrence J. Alperin CPA, PC based in Smithtown. She joins the firm with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Old Westbury and an Associate of Science degree in accounting from Suffolk Community College, where she received numerous awards. Ms. Anderson is currently pursuing her master’s degree in taxation from SUNY Old Westbury.

Ms. Scholtz, of Mattituck, will work from the firm’s Southampton office and was previously employed at Banducci, Katz & Ferraris based in Sag Harbor. Ms. Scholtz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, and has six years of professional experience in personal and corporate tax. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in accounting from St. Joseph’s University.
