The Hampton Bays girls volleyball team fell at home to Bayport/Blue Point, 3-0, on Monday. The Lady Phantoms won, 25-22, 25-23, 25-13. Hampton Bays is now 5-2 in League VII, 6-3 overall.
The Hampton Bays girls gymnastics team improved to 2-1 in League III after a 110.05-82.4 victory over Walt Whitman at home on Monday. The Lady Baymen are 3-3 overall.
The Lady Baymen lost, 5.5-1.5, at Mercy on Monday in a non-league match, dropping them to 5-7 overall.
The Eastport South Manor girls tennis team won a tight match over Westhampton Beach, 4-3, on Monday. ESM’s Cassie Rivera and Sarah Jurgielewicz defeated Jessica Prast and Heather Marcella, 6-0, 6-1, at first doubles. The Lady Sharks (2-6 in League VII, 5-7 overall) have won two League VII matches this season both against Westhampton Beach (2-7 in League VII, 2-10 overall).
After a scoreless first half, the Baymen scored three second-half goals en route to a 3-0 win at Babylon on Monday. Andres Tapia, Nick Giannone and Moises Villareal all scored for Hampton Bays, and Cristian Iquia had two assists. Joe Calamita made three saves for the shutout.
The Hurricanes lost, 6-2, at home to Comsewogue on Monday. Jeff Zavala and Luis Muralles scored both goals for Westhampton Beach (0-8 in League V), and Ryan Burke made 14 saves.
The Sharks suffered a 1-0 loss at Rocky Point on Monday. The Eagles scored a first-half goal and made it stand up the rest of the way. ESM is 1-5-2 in League V.
