The cause of a small fire at Fellingham’s Sports Bar in Southampton Village early Tuesday morning is under investigation.
The Cameron Street blaze, which was reported to the Southampton Fire Department at 1:37 a.m., was contained quickly, and there was no damage to the inside of the restaurant, Southampton Fire Department Assistant Chief Chris Brenner said on Tuesday.
According to Mr. Brenner, the fire was on the exterior southeastern wall of the business, and a small portion of the wall was removed to make sure the fire did not extend past the wall. Southampton Fire Chief Dennis Roy was in charge on the scene. No injuries were reported, and there were no patrons in the business at the time.
The Southampton Village fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
