Sag Harbor School News, October 31

Sag Harbor Elementary School

On Friday, November 8, the school will honor veterans at Morning Program with a short tribute film and songs. The veterans will enjoy a special breakfast at 7:45 a.m. Any veterans who have not received an invitation from the school yet should contact school counselor Michelle Grant by calling 725-5301.

The kindergartners in Susan Raebeck’s class made a presentation at Morning Program called “Trees.” The children sang “This Is My Trunk” and recited the poem, “Growth of a Tree,” wearing unique headbands made especially for the poem.

Fourth- and fifth-grade students went on a field trip to Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island, participating in Project Adventure. They used the low ropes course and took part in field activities. This was a day of cooperation, problem solving and teamwork. The program was designed to challenge students in a safe, supportive atmosphere in order to promote mutual support, develop a sense of personal confidence, and increase level of agility and physical coordination.

Partners in Print will not be held on Thursday, October 31, but will resume on Thursday, November 7, with the topic, Playing with Print.

A bond presentation will be held on Friday, November 1, directly following Morning Program. All are welcome to attend.

School will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on Monday, November 11.
