Side By Side Child Care and East End Kids

Students have welcomed fall by decorating the hallways with autumn scenes including trees with falling leaves, squirrels and acorns, as well as Halloween decorations such as flying bats, carved pumpkins, giggly ghosts and happy witches.

Visiting librarian Miss Lynn came to read Halloween and fall stories to students and lead them in song. There was a Halloween parade around the school, trick-or-treating in each classroom, and a schoolwide party. Among the terrific costumes were Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, trains, cats and lady bugs.

The related service staff—occupational therapist, physical therapist and speech pathologists—planned a spooktacular event. They had a ball pit with lights, a microphone to make spooky noises, lighted bracelets to wear and a sensory table that included soft cotton with flashlights, wet and slippery slime, smelly shaving cream for drawing, etc.
