Sag Harbor Elementary SchoolThe second graders in Lacey Price’s class gave a PowerPoint presentation at Morning Program about bats. Each student wrote about and illustrated their favorite bat fact and then they all sang “Bats, Bats, Bats” as a group.

The school is continuing its tradition of collecting non-perishable food items for Sag Harbor families and the Sag Harbor Food Pantry through November 15. In order to make sure we have a good balance of food groups, the different grade levels have been assigned specific categories. Kindergarten and fifth grade will bring in fruits and vegetables—canned and dried fruits and vegetables, juices, snack cups, apple sauce, and soups; first and second grades will bring in grains—cereal, pasta, cereal bars, rice, oatmeal, soup; and third and fourth grades will bring proteins and fats—canned tuna, peanut butter, beans, nuts, oil, dessert mix, soup, pie filling, gravy, etc.

The Pierson PTSA is hosting a holiday market on Saturday, November 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crafts, handmade items, food, and letters to Santa are a few of the tables scheduled.

Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Monday, November 25, and Tuesday, November 26. Dismissal at the elementary school is at 11:15 on both days. Students who will attend SHAEP on parent-teacher conference days must be enrolled by Friday, November 22.

School will be closed for Thanksgiving recess from Wednesday, November 27, through Friday, November 29. Classes will resume on Monday, December 2.
