Sag Harbor Celebrates Veterans Day

The annual Sag Harbor Village Veterans Day Parade was held Monday morning, starting at the Civil War memorial, heading down Main Street and towards the American Legion post on Bay Street. This year, the parade culminated with a ceremony to honor the 200th anniversary of the village’s heroics during the War of 1812, which saw villagers and militia men driving back British troops who were attempting to invade and pillage. Village mayor Brian Gilbride , Southampton Town supervisor Anna Throne-Holst and State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr., were in attendance to mark the occasion.
