Former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will be signing copies of her newest book, “Hard Choices,” this Sunday, August 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Books & Books on Main Street in Westhampton Beach.
Jack McKeown and Denise Berthiaume, the co-owners of the bookstore, have ordered 1,000 copies of the book in anticipation of a large crowd that’s expected to show up on Sunday, according to Liz Hartman, the events manager for Books & Books.
Last weekend, Ms. Clinton made a similar appearance at BookHampton in East Hampton, attracting nearly 900 autograph-seekers. Her visit to The Book Review in Huntington two weeks earlier attracted an estimated 1,000 people as well.
Customers interested in meeting Ms. Clinton can order a copy of her new book from the Westhampton Beach shop this Friday and Saturday, August 21 and 22. In return, they’ll receive a wristband and receipt that they must bring with them on Sunday to meet Ms. Clinton. Customers will receive their books at Sunday’s event.
“It is important to note that buying a book in advance does not mean that they are moved up to the front of the line once it is formed,” Ms. Hartman wrote in an email. “We strongly encourage people to arrive early [on Sunday].”
Mr. McKeown and Ms. Berthiaume, who are married, said they are excited to meet Ms. Clinton. “For Denise and I, this event is a highlight of our business lives as publishing people and booksellers, and we are both personally thrilled to a meet a woman we have admired for decades,” Mr. McKeown said.
