Four were transported to Southampton Hospital after an early Saturday morning blaze destroyed a house in Springs.
A mother and her two children were inside the house at 787 Accabonac Road, adjacent to the Green River Cemetery, when it caught on fire Saturday morning. Springs Fire Department 1st Assistant Chief David King said the department received a call around 4:15 a.m. and arrived on the scene shortly after. Springs received assistance from the East Hampton, Amagansett and Sag Harbor departments, with East Hampton standing by at the Springs firehouse on Fort Pond Boulevard.
The mother and her two children made it out of the house safely, although it was destroyed by the blaze, Chief King said. They were transported to Southampton Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
A firefighter from Amagansett was also transported to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries, Chief King said.
The chief said it took about 75 firefighters from the four departments to control the fire. It was extinguished by 6:45 a.m.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation by the East Hampton Town fire marshal.
