Hibernians Host Hampton Bays St. Patrick’s Day Parade Fundraiser Saturday

Despite steady rainfall, more than 100 people attended a fundraiser held by the Southampton chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians on Saturday to support the Hampton Bays St. Patrick’s Day parade that it hosts annually. Chapter President Ryan Horn said the money being raised was not exclusively for next year’s parade, but also to bolster the group’s funds for future parades. John Ryan, who runs the Hibernians’ parade committee, said the group had not calculated how much money was raised at the event, which was held at The Boardy Barn and included live music, step dancers, a Chinese auction and, of course, corned beef, potatoes and cabbage. “The weather kind of encumbered us a little bit but, all in all, it went well,” Mr. Ryan said. “Everyone enjoyed themselves and we got a lot of compliments on the corned beef and cabbage dinner.” PHOTOS BY KYLE CAMPBELL
