The East Hampton girls soccer team suffered a tough-luck 1-0 loss at home against Mount Sinai on Monday. Caya Schuster scored the only goal on a penalty kick in the 60th minute. Cecelia Blowe made eight saves for East Hampton, which fell to 1-6 in League VI, 2-6 overall.
The Southampton girls soccer team lost, 7-0, at home to Shoreham/Wading River, falling to 0-6 in League VI, 0-8 overall.
Jack Fitzpatrick had four goals and an assist to lead the Pierson boys soccer team in a 5-2 win at Greenport, which moved the Whalers to 6-0 in League VIII, 6-3 overall. Jesus Padilla had the other goal, and Chase Zimmerman made four saves. Pierson had only a 2-1 lead at the half before pulling away in the second.
The Pierson girls soccer team lost 3-0 at Stony Brook, dropping to 0-6 in League VII, 0-7 overall.
The Pierson girls volleyball team broke a four-match losing streak with a 3-1 win at Ross (25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-19). Maizy Guyer had 20 assists and 15 aces, while Nia Dawson had 12 kills to lead the Lady Whalers (2-4 in League VIII, 2-6 overall).
