Governor Andrew M. Cuomo recently announced the launch of the I LOVE NEW YORK Bus, a new year-round tourism initiative that will offer transportation from New York City to destinations across the state.
Southampton-based Hampton Jitney will operate the bus. Hampton Jitney is a company with more than 40 years of experience providing transportation throughout the state.
“We look forward to bringing the great destinations, craft beverages and events that our state offers to even more New Yorkers, as well as the many tourists who visit New York each year,” Hampton Jitney President Geoff Lynch said.
“Tourism is thriving in New York, and increasing access to some of this state’s most scenic landscapes and recreational areas is the next step,” Governor Cuomo said.
A series of autumn weekend itineraries, with departure from New York City, are planned, including the North Fork Wine Trail and Taste of North Fork. North Fork Wine Trail trips are planned for Saturdays, October 18 and 25, and November 1. The Taste of North Fork two-day tour will be held on November 8 and 9.
The bus will add more events to its schedule in the future. Pick-up and drop-off location for the bus will be at the corner of 44th Street and Third Avenue in Manhattan, near Grand Central Station. Reservations are recommended, though on-bus tickets will available, space permitting.
