Man Walks 600 Miles To Montauk For Developmentally Disabled

Mr. Cavanagh completed a 600-mile Walk for Justice from Buffalo to Montauk to bring awareness to the need for emergency 911 services for reports of abuse against those residing at state developmental facilities. Mr. Cavanagh represents The Jonathan Carey Foundation, named for a developmentally disabled, autistic 13-year-old boy from Albany, who died in 2007 following abuse at a state developmental institutional facility. Jonathan’s caregiver is in state prison serving a 5- to 15-year sentence for 2nd degree manslaughter.
