Portions of Scuttlehole Road will be reduced to one lane, or closed to traffic, on Wednesday while Southampton Town Highway Department crews conduct paving work.
The eastbound lane of the entire road will remain open through the morning rush hour, Highway Superintendent Alex Gregor said.
The town will be repaving the roadway between Lumber Lane and the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. The work will focus on the westbound lane in the morning so that the eastbound lane can be left open to traffic. After 10 a.m., the roadway will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic.
The work is expected to be completed by 4 p.m.
