A driver and his two passengers were taken to Southampton Hospital following a vehicle rollover in Sagaponack on Monday afternoon.

According to Southampton Town Police, Sergio Garcia, 37, of Southampton was traveling west on Montauk Highway at about 2:30 p.m. when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Sagg Main Street, which ran the red light at the intersection with Montauk Highway. Sergeant William Kiernan said the call came in at 2:36 p.m.

Mr. Garcia’s car was hit on the driver’s side, causing it to roll over onto the north side of the road, police said. He and his two passengers were transported to Southampton Hospital by the Bridgehampton Fire Department and Ambulance Company and treated for minor injuries.

The driver who hit Mr. Garcia, 24-year-old Matthew Dunlop of East Hampton, was issued a summons for running the red light. According to police, Mr. Dunlop said he had looked down while he was driving and did not see that the light was red.

Police were on the scene for two hours. Sagg Main Street and Montauk Highway remained open while the accident was cleared.
