The Hampton Bays PAL 10U youth football team put the finishing touch on an impressive season on Sunday, beating Sayville, 32-13, to win the championship with a flawless 10-0 record.
It marked the first undefeated season and first championship for Hampton Bays PAL football, according to head coach Darryl Johnson.
The team included 21 10-year-olds and six 9-year-olds from the community.
The Baymen offense scored a division-leading 206 points, averaging 20.6 points per game, while giving up just 93 points, an average of 9.3 per game.
Hampton Bays finished the regular season at 7-0, and earned the third seed in the playoffs. They opened the postseason with a 27-13 win over Connetquot on October 26 in Hampton Bays, and then beat Wyandanch, 6-0, on November 2 at Westhampton Beach High School, advancing to the championship. They beat Sayville on the road for the ultimate prize.
