The woman trapped inside of the blue Subaru is being Medevaced to Stony Brook Hospital, according to chatter on the police scanner. All other units are back in service.
Volunteers from the East Hampton and Amagansett ambulance companies as well as the East Hampton Fire Department’s Heavy Rescue Squad responded to a two-car accident on Newtown Lane and Race Lane in East Hampton Village on Wednesday afternoon.
Three persons were injured, and although a woman was still being freed from a Subaru as of about 3 p.m., East Hampton Village Police Chief Jerry Larsen said he did not think the injuries were life-threatening. A Medevac helicopter has been called, though the chief said he wasn’t sure it would be needed.
According to the chief, a white pickup truck and the blue Subaru collided near a four-way intersection, possibly after one vehicle ran a red light. Newtown Lane was closed in the Race Lane vicinity as of about 3 p.m.
