Heroin Charge In Westhampton Arrest On Saturday

A 26-year-old woman was charged with heroin possession after police found her sitting inside a car that was blocking an intersection in Westhampton on Saturday morning.

At 9:40 a.m., Southampton Town Police officers saw that William Parson, 33, of Sound Beach and Heather McCormack of Mastic Beach were sitting inside Mr. Parson’s car, which was blocking the intersection of John Way and Mill Road.

Ms. McCormack had heroin in her possession, police said, and was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Police said Mr. Parson, who had his license revoked previously for an alcohol-related offense, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

Ms. McCormack and Mr. Parson were arraigned later that morning in Southampton Town Justice Court and released on $100 bail. Both are scheduled to return to court on Wednesday, December 10, according to Sergeant Andrew Ficurilli.
