Harvesting For Hunger Food Drive Rides Through East Hampton

As part of a nation-wide effort to fight hunger, bicyclists rode through East Hampton on Saturday to take park in the 4th Annual Harvesting for Hunger Food Drive and Cranskgiving, sponsored by Saunders & Associates. Participants rode their bikes six miles and stopped at local grocery stores to purchase food for the hungry. The East Hampton Rotary Club, the East Hampton High School Interact Club and the East Hampton Girl Scouts participated in the event. Matt Lauer from NBC’s “Today” show was also a participant and the event will be broadcast on the “Today” show on Monday, November 24. Food collected will be distributed to more than 300 families and 31,000 individuals, as well as clients of the East Hampton, Amagansett, Springs and Wainscott food pantries. KYRIL BROMLEY PHOTOS
