Verizon Worker Injured In East Hampton Village


A Verizon worker suffered a hand injury at about 11 a.m. Thursday in front of Riverhead Building Supply on Railroad Avenue in East Hampton Village and had to be flown to the hospital.

According to officials at the scene, the worker got his hand caught in a wire while working on Railroad Avenue. He was taken by East Hampton Village Ambulance to East Hampton Airport and was airlifted by medevac helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.

A Verizon compliance officer at the scene said he could not comment on the incident.
